Mild thrombocytopenia indicating maternal organ damage in pre‐eclampsia: a cross‐sectional study

چکیده
Abstract Background Currently, there is a disagreement between guidelines regarding platelet count cut-off values as sign of maternal organ damage in pre-eclampsia; the American College Obstetricians and Gynecologists state value < 100 × 10 9 /L; however, International Society for Study Hypertension Pregnancy specify 150 /L. We evaluated effect mild thrombocytopenia: /L ≥ on clinical features pre-eclampsia to examine whether thrombocytopenia reflects pre-eclampsia. Methods A total 264 women were enrolled this study. Participants divided into three groups based levels at delivery: normal, thrombocytopenia, severe Risk hypertension, utero-placental dysfunction, damage, preterm delivery, neonatal intensive care unit admission analyzed levels. Estimated relative risk was calculated with Poisson regression analysis robust error. Results Platelet counts indicated normal 189 patients, 51 24 patients. The estimated risks 4.46 [95 % confidence interval, 2.59–7.68] except 1.61 [1.06–2.45] delivery 34 gestational weeks, 1.35 [1.06–1.73] admission. On other hand, 0.97 [0.41–2.26] 0.91 [0.62–1.35] [0.76–1.24] Conclusions Mild not associated would be suitable damage.

Neonatal Thrombocytopenia as a Consequence of Maternal Preeclampsia
Introduction Preeclampsia (preE) is pregnancy-induced hypertension affecting a significant proportion of pregnant women worldwide and can cause detrimental effects in the mother and newborn. Some of the effects in the newborn include neonatal thrombocytopenia. Pertaining specifically to neonatal thrombocytopenia, several questions remain unanswered. Discussion According to the current literatur...
متن کاملHypertension Highlights Immunology in Hypertension, Preeclampsia, and Target-Organ Damage
Hypertension generally brings to mind hemodynamic mechanisms, increased peripheral vascular resistance, the laws of Ohm or Hagen-Poisseule, and perhaps targetorgan damage mediated through acceleration of atherosclerosis, vasculitis, or other concomitant processes. However, innate and acquired adaptive cellular or even antibodymediated immunity plays an active role in the pathogenesis of hyperte...

متن کاملMaternal thrombocytopenia in pregnancy
Thrombocytopenia is a common occurrence in pregnancy. Although pregnancy is associated with physiological changes in platelet count, several pathological conditions cause thrombocytopenia, which can have a significant impact on the mother and the baby. There are diverse etiologies for thrombocytopenia, some of which are unique to pregnancy. This review provides a detailed discussion of the diag...
متن کاملMaternal Periodontitis, Preeclampsia and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes
Background and Aim: Preeclampsia is a considerable problem of pregnancy. Endothelial dysfunction and placental hypoxia are the current hypothesis of preeclampsia. Chronic inflammation, including periodontitis may provoke systemic maternal and placental pro-inflammatory endothelial dysfunction, which represent a significant risk factor for diseases of vascular origin. So this study was carried o...
